We would like to start by thanking you for your consideration in becoming a sponsor for Westchester Disc Golf Enthusiasts (WeDGE) for the 2020 season. Over the several years our sport and organization has seen tremendous growth. In the short period we have been an organization our membership has surpassed 100 members, our facebook page with over 700 members, and our instagram with over 400 followers. We have seen enthusiasm amongst the community regarding our charitable events, family oriented welcoming environment, community outreach, memberships, and tournaments we host.
Being a charitable organization much of our funds are geared towards improving the community around us. Our only source of funding is derived from our events, sponsorships, club memberships, and club merchandise. What is Westchester Disc Golf?
Westchester Disc Golf is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization whose main purpose is to promote and grow the sport of disc golf in Westchester, NY. This involves providing free instructional clinics to our community through various organizations including boy scouts and day camps. We also are devoted to local charitable organizations and hold annual charity driven events making yearly contributions to the Food Bank at Westchester and Support Connection Inc.
What is the Community Outreach Program?
Community outreach and support is the premise upon which we function. Disc golf is an inexpensive family oriented sport that can be enjoyed by people of all ages and skill levels. This allows families to go out and become active together for very little out of pocket costs while enjoying the beautiful public parks Westchester has to offer. Through disc golf we took the opportunity to give back to the community through our instructional programs, charitable events & donations as mentioned above totaling over 20,000$ since our establishment in 2013!
What are our goals with the Community Outreach Program?
Since our incorporation in 2013 we have introduced 100’s of people especially children to disc golf through work with local camps, boy scout groups, schools, and families at no cost to them.
Disc golf offers a wide range of benefits to our community and especially our children. In a time where less time is spent outside and more time spent inside in front of a screen we believe it is vitally important to have an outlet to unplug and reconnect to the outdoors. We believe Disc Golf offers the following benefits:
1. Building an appreciation for nature
Disc golf courses are typically built in public parks in our region. The Westchester, NY area is home to incredibly beautiful terrain and disc golf course design takes careful note of this when course development begins. Very little alteration is made to the surrounding natural environment to provide a raw nature experience.
2. Providing a fun and engaging exercise outlet
Exercise can be difficult to make a routine and is much easier to maintain when the exercise activity is viewed as fun. In fact, very few people consider disc golf exercise despite a single round essentially boiling down to a 1-3 mile hike.
3. Providing a social network and inclusion into a like-minded community
Our main focus is the development of community. The disc golf community in Westchester is a thriving environment of support, friendship, and personal growth.
4. Developing confidence, patience, and independent sense of achievement
Disc golf is fascinating in that it is a sport that is easily picked up and enjoyed by all, but extraordinarily difficult to master. As your skills develop it leads to increased confidence in yourself. We hope to instill this message especially in our younger players.
5. Providing a break in the daily routine to which we’ve become accustomed
As any hobby, disc golf provides a rejuvenating boost from the monotonous routine we tend to develop in life. It has the added benefit of being a health-promoting hobby!
6. Translating practice to real results
Disc golf is all about lessons. Translating the old adage of “practice makes perfect” into real-life is an extremely gratifying experience.
7. Unplugging
Recent data has linked heavy technology use to depression and increased stress. Disc golf provides a healthy outlet to reconnect with nature and reducing stress.
How do we help out local community?
Each year we host at least two charitable events with proceeds directly going to charitable causes we feel strongly in supportable. Yearly we host a winter tournament in Mt. Kisco, NY named the Kisco Klassic in which the proceeds go directly to the Food Bank at Westchester. We also host a yearly tournament with proceeds directly benefiting breast and ovarian cancer research efforts. This past year alone we have raised for than 4,000$ combined towards these causes!
Westchester Disc Golf Yearly Events & Tournaments
Disc golf is a sport that we enjoy year round; we host events throughout the year despite the season. We host monthly club member rounds, weekly co-operative double player rounds on Tuesdays and Fridays, and a Winter putting league. We use these events as a way to engage our community and provide value to their membership and together we work to promote and grow the sport of disc golf. Regardless, given our aim of inclusivity our events are always open to new-comers, non-members, and anyone interested in coming to learn despite age or skill level.
We host much larger annual tournaments which drive contestants from the tri-state area and beyond. Our bigger events draw players from across the country, including some of the biggest names in the professional circles.

Benefits of Sponsorship:
Primarily you will be giving back to the local community; however, our sponsors receive numerous advertisements as event participants on an ongoing basis throughout the year. Disc golfers are a tight knit loyal community and strive to support those who support them. Entire businesses have been generated through local support from disc golfers including independent production studios, coffee roasters, merchandising companies, and many more.
Becoming our sponsor will make our goal promoting your company and/or products to all of our player base, spectators, volunteers, and social media following. Cumulatively we expect over 1,000 participants in our events.
Sponsorship Options:
Proceeds are used directly for the benefit of the community in promoting our outreach programs, tournaments, and club events. In order to increase membership these funds are used for a variety of purposes including providing lunches, park fees, prize support, and promotion of our mission.
In addition to monetary sponsorships we also accept food, beverages, outdoor gear, clothing, coupons, gift certificates. Sponsors may also choose to include promotional items that are given out in “player packs” at each tournament. The minimum quantity of promotional product is 100 to cover all necessary player packs.
We also offer annual sponsorship opportunities and will be happy to discuss in more detail upon request in additional to one-time single event sponsorship at any of our listed events.
Recreational Sponsor: 50$ (unlimited) includes a small logo at our tournament central sponsor recognition banner.
Amateur Sponsor: 100$ (unlimited) Includes the aforementioned logo placement in addition to club/tournament disc as a thank you.
Pro Sponsor: 250$ (10 available per year) Includes a medium size logo on our tournament central recognition banner, a full player pack, club / tournament disc and your logo placed on all pre-tournament promotional materials. You will also receive recognition on the club facebook & instagram at least one time
Tournament Sponsor: 500$ (10 available) Includes all the above in addition to a personalized banner at tournament central dedicated to your sponsorship. Includes a side-bar logo on our website for 6 months with social media recognition on facebook and instagram at minimum of 3 times.
World Championship Sponsor: 1,000$ + (1 available). Includes all of the above in addition to your logo on a limited edition tournament disc, trophies, and recognition on our social media outlets at least 6 times.
Westchester Disc Golf is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. All proceeds will be used to grow and promote disc golf in the Westchester Area and are fully deductible to the extent of the law.
