New Baskets for Kisco

kisco basket

you’re gonna get Kisco’d

Has this ever happened to you?
you blow the drive on hole 9.  Grip-locked. Now you’re up on the rocks to right of the fairway. Time to scramble. “That’s o.k.”, you think, “I can play billy goat golf with the best of ‘em”. Right you are and a clever flick leaves you with a 15 footer to save par. You step up, pull the trigger on a routine putt and somehow, the green yarn holding the remaining two strands of chain together is not enough to keep your disc in the basket. Bogey. You’ve been Kisco’d. You throw both fists to the heavens and scream out a blood-curdling, “KISCOOOOOOOO!!!!!!”.

Kisco’d  /kiskōd/ past participle of Kisco v. To thwart a well thrown putt from landing in the basket. Marvin’s putt for birdie on 12 was perfect but he got Kisco’d and took a par.

There’s a cure. It’s the Chainstar from Discraft! It’s a scientific fact: Chainstars catch discs. The Town of Mt Kisco Recreation Commission has agreed to let WeDGE renovate the course with new baskets, tee pads and signage.ChainstarInstructions-1 WeDGE activist, Ernest Motten Jr. has negotiated a deal with Discraft for 18 Chainstars with ground sleeves and locking collars for $5886 including shipping. We’ve set our fundraising goal at $6000. to account for the concrete required to anchor the ground sleeves.

What you can do to help. Donate cash. Gobs and gobs of cash. Don’t have gobs of cash? That’s cool. Give what you can. Any donation small or large will be appreciated by your fellow disc golfers and immediately put to good use. The funds donated to the Baskets for Kisco fund will go exclusively for that purpose. The day we hit our target, the baskets will be ordered. Once we get them we’ll start throwing some work parties to get them in the ground.
